Festive season

Visiting : Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle, Salzburg, Zugspitze Mountain, Rosenheim, Ettal...

 

Prepare your boots, hats and scarves so you will be part of this beautiful trip with snow falling on your shoulders. Based in Munich, one of the most prosperous and fastest-growing cities in Germany,  Synchronise your watch with Munich's Glockenspiel and be overwhelmed by the architecture of the old and new Town Halls.


Travel to Austria to look at Mozart's birthplace in the enchanting city of Salzburg and go up to the Fortress to take in the city view, which no European city can beat.

Rothenburg
Proceed with your trip across Bavaria to experience the town of Rothenburg, located on the Romantic Route. Be adventurous and visit Lake Eibsee and Zugspitze Mountain. Reach the top and admire the skiers while sipping a delicious hot chocolate. Be stunned by the impressive Benedict Monastery in the little village of Ettal.  Become part of a fairytale at Neuschwanstein Castle and forget all your worries. 

 

Wednesday, December 27th:


Our journey commences as we assemble at the airport at 07:25 for check-in for flight KM306, scheduled for departure at 09:25 and arrival in Munich at 11:45. Upon arrival, the coach will transfer us to the city centre, where we'll embark on a city tour led by a local guide. This tour will encompass the central square, Marianplatz, dominated by the domes of Frauenkirche, a 15th-century church. We will also behold the renowned Glockenspiel clock in front of Neues Rathaus, which shares the same square. Subsequently, we will proceed to the Olympic Village, offering unique views from the Olympic stage. Our day will conclude at the 3-star Hotel Wallis City Center. In the evening, you'll have the opportunity to explore this beautiful city further with the tour leader.

 

Thursday, December 28th:


An enriching excursion awaits us today as we explore the beauty of Neuschwanstein Castle, a neo-Romanesque masterpiece famously associated with King Ludwig. We will also be privileged to visit 'Hohenschwangau Castle' and appreciate its splendour (additional entrance fee). Following this, we'll see the charming village of Fussen, nestled in the foothills of the Alps, and take a tour of its historic centre.

 

Friday, December 29th:


We embark on a captivating half-day excursion to the beautiful city of Rosenheim in Bavaria, Germany. Upon arrival, a city tour will introduce us to its most intriguing sites, such as Max Josef Platz, Kirche St. Nikolaus, Ludwigplatz, and The Cathedral. Subsequently, you'll have free time for personal sightseeing.

 

Saturday, December 30th:

Salzburg
Our day is filled with history as we visit the renowned city of Salzburg, famous for its historical and scenic beauty and association with the iconic musical film "The Sound of Music." Our exploration includes the cathedral, Residence Square, Market Square, Getreidegasse, and Mozart's house. Optionally, you can take a cable car ride (at an additional charge) to Hohensalzburg Fortress from Kapitelplatz. Later, you'll have free time to savour the city's enchanting atmosphere, including its 'Christmas Markets.' You'll have another opportunity to venture out with the tour leader in the evening.

 

Sunday, December 31st:


After breakfast, you will have a leisurely day exploring this beautiful city and relish its festive atmosphere. You can join the festivities at the main square in the evening, where many activities usher in the new year. Alternatively, you may opt for a Dinner Dance event to revel in a lively atmosphere (optional) – feel free to request additional information.

 

Monday, January 1st, 2023:

Bavarian Alps
Happy New Year!! Join us as we bask in the natural beauty of the Bavarian Alps. Our destination today is the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, towering at 9,788 feet. We will start our journey from Eibsee, taking a cable car ride (additional fee) to the mountain's summit. From there, you can savour the breathtaking vistas of the Bavarian Alps. After immersing ourselves in nature's grandeur, we'll descend and proceed to Ettal, where we will visit the renowned Benedictine monastery. You'll have ample time for souvenir shopping. Our day concludes as we return to the hotel.

 

Tuesday, January 2nd:


Following breakfast, we will transfer to Munich airport for flight KM307, departing at 12:40 and arriving in Malta at 15:00.
