We convene at Malta International Airport at 06:45 for flight FR2278, departing for Budapest at 08:45 and arriving at 11:00. Upon arrival, we transfer by coach for a city tour led by a local English-speaking guide. Highlights include the Parliament building, Hero's Square, the Opera House, Royal Palace, Citadel, and Fisherman's Bastions. Later, we check into the NH Budapest City 4-star hotel in the city center, followed by free time.
We embark on an intriguing excursion to the charming town of Eger, renowned for its Baroque architecture and notable landmarks like the second largest church in Hungary. Our tour includes visits to the medieval castle (extra entry) and the fifteenth-century Bishop's Palace, along with a historical Ottoman minaret standing 40 meters tall. Eger is also famous for its spas, wines, and picturesque streets. Optionally, in the evening, there's a Folklore Show + dinner for an enjoyable experience featuring dancing and traditional folk costumes.
A fascinating excursion takes us to Puzsta and Kecskemet. We journey to Kecskemet for a panoramic exploration of the town, followed by free time for souvenir shopping. Continuing to Puzsta, we enjoy a carousel ride across the plains and witness a spectacular show featuring skilled riders and horses. A welcome drink and traditional dinner (paid) with wine follow the show. We return to Budapest with cherished memories. In the evening, there's an optional outing with the tour leader.
After breakfast, we venture to Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia, situated on the Danube River. Our tour includes a visit to the city's dominating castle, offering panoramic views, followed by exploration of the historic center featuring majestic buildings like Main Square, Franciscan Square, Michael's Gate, St. Martin's Cathedral, and Primate Palace. Free time allows for optional dining (extra) and personal exploration before returning to Budapest.
We start with breakfast and embark on a full-day excursion to the picturesque towns along the Danube River, known as Danube Bend. Our itinerary includes stops at Szentendre, a beautiful village renowned for its baroque architecture, Visegrad, featuring a fortress with stunning views, and Esztergom, where we visit the Cathedral, Porta Speciosa, Szechenyi Square, and the historic center's churches and narrow streets. This excursion is often regarded as one of the most beautiful. Later, we transfer to Budapest airport for flight FR2277 departing at 18:40, arriving back in Malta at 20:55.
