We'll convene at Malta Airport at 10:00 for flight FR1723, departing at 12:05 and arriving at Naples Airport at 13:25. A coach transfer will take us to the heart of Sorrento, where we'll stay at the 3-star+ Hotel La Meridiana, offering air-conditioned rooms. Following a brief outing with the leader, exploring Piazza Tasso and the charming streets filled with traditional shops, we'll have dinner at the hotel.
An intriguing afternoon excursion awaits us in Pompeii, frozen in time by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. The archaeological excavations (extra entry) offer insight into Roman life. Lunch (extra) and shopping are on the agenda, and we'll visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Pompeii. Afterward, there's free time, followed by a folkloric evening - the Tarantella Show (extra) featuring traditional singing and dancing.
After a buffet breakfast, we embark on a captivating excursion to Naples. With a local guide, we explore the Mergellina area, Piazza Plebiscito, Galleria Umberto I, Basilica Reale San Francesco di Paola, Piazza del Municipio, Castel Nuovo, and Palazzo Reale. In the historic center, there's time for shopping and personal exploration. A post-dinner walk is also planned.
A day trip to Caserta, known as the Versailles of Naples, takes us to the Royal Palace, built by Charles III in the 18th century (extra entry). The palace's gardens and park are worth exploring. Later, we visit a Shopping Outlet with over 100 shops, restaurants, and cafes. Ample time is provided for shopping before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Easter Sunday is marked with a full-day excursion to the renowned island of Capri. The ferry boat (included) from Sorrento takes us to this beautiful island. We explore Anacapri, with an option to ascend Monte Solaro via seggiovia (extra) for breathtaking views. Our journey continues to Capri, where we visit the famous Piazzetta, Augustus Gardens, and Via Camerelle. We return to Sorrento by ferry for dinner.
A scenic excursion along the Amalfi Coast leads us to Positano, perched on a cliff. We continue to UNESCO-listed Amalfi, exploring the port, central square, and Chiostro Del Paradiso (extra entry). The journey proceeds to Ravelloli for a panoramic view of the Amalfi Coast before returning to the hotel for dinner.
After breakfast, we explore the beautiful village of Castellammare di Stabia before heading to Naples Airport for flight FR1722, departing at 16:25, and arriving back in Malta at 17:40.
