Thursday, 17th April
We meet at Malta International Airport at 03:45 for flight FR3871 which departs at 05:45. We arrive in Treviso at 07:40. Transfer to the beautiful Slovenian coast: Isola, Piran, and Portorož. Our first stop will be Piran, where we take a walking tour through the narrowest and most picturesque streets, arriving at Piazza Tartini with the Church of St. George and the port. Free time, then continue to Portorož, one of Slovenia's largest tourist resorts, where we will find many luxurious hotels, restaurants, casinos, and beautiful shops. The final stop will be in Izola, a "fishing village," where we will have enough time to explore this charming village. Afterward, we head to Hotel Park in the center of Ljubljana. Check-in, and then we will begin to explore this beautiful city with the tour leader. For those who have booked half-board, the meal will be served at the hotel in the evening.
Friday, 18th April
Today, we offer a fascinating half-day city tour of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. With a local guide, we will visit the most famous sites of the city. We start with the famous Three Bridges Fountain and the Town Hall building, Rotovž. We will cross the Triple Bridge (Tromostovja), visit the main Prešeren Square, the Neo-Classical Franciscan Church, and the Church of St. James, before concluding with a visit to the famous 12th-century Ljubljana Castle, where we can enjoy spectacular views of the entire city. From here, we will descend back to the center, where we will have free time.
Saturday, 19th April
A very interesting excursion to Novo Mesto, where, together with the tour leader, we will take a tour of the area. We will also visit an old farm that has been restored in traditional style. Here we will have a wine tasting and, for those interested, the chance to taste some traditional food (extra). Afterward, we will have a cruise on the Krka River, passing under four bridges and seeing many interesting sights along this beautiful river. A truly unique experience! We will return to the hotel afterward.
Sunday, 20th April
Today, we will have the opportunity to visit Bled and Bohinj in Slovenia. After breakfast, we will depart for a day trip to Bled and Bohinj. This will be amidst stunning scenery, as we reach Bled, a village surrounded by a lake, with a small island in the middle. We will stop for sightseeing, and for those interested, there will be the option of a boat ride (not included) around the lake and Bled Island. Afterward, we will visit Bohinj, surrounded by the best mountain scenery. Bohinj is considered one of the most beautiful places in the heart of the Julian Alps.
Monday, 21st April
Breakfast and an excursion to the Postojna Caves to visit these world-famous caves. We will take the electric train (not included) to explore the caves and enjoy the beauty of the stalagmites inside. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, with a guide explaining everything we see. We continue to Predjama Castle, the most famous castle in Slovenia.
Tuesday, 22nd April
Breakfast and transfer by coach to the city of Trieste, the capital of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Afterward, we continue to Treviso airport for check-in for flight FR3870, which departs at 20:40, arriving back in Malta at around 22:30.
