Saturday, August 23 We meet at Malta International Airport at 07:00 to check in for flight KM514, which departs at 09:15 and arrives in Vienna at 11:35. Transfer by coach to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Upon arrival at Hotel Park Ljubljana 3 star+, check-in and room assignments. Dinner and then an evening outing with the leader to explore what this beautiful city has to offer.
Sunday, August 24 A fascinating excursion to Novo Mesto, where, together with the tour leader, we will take a small tour around the area. Afterwards, we will enjoy a cruise (extra) on the Krka River, passing under four bridges and seeing many interesting sites along the river. Later, we will visit an ancient farm that has been restored in traditional style. Here, we will have the opportunity (extra) for a wine tasting and to taste some traditional food. A truly unique experience!
Monday, August 25 After a buffet breakfast, we will take a city tour of Ljubljana, where a local guide will show us the most interesting sites, such as the medieval castle, Old Town, Dragon Bridge, and beautiful squares. After the tour, there will be free time for shopping and personal sightseeing.
Tuesday, August 26 After breakfast, we will have another wonderful day, visiting part of Slovenia’s beautiful coastline: Isola, Piran, and Portorož. The first stop will be in Piran, where we will take a walking tour through the picturesque narrow streets, Piazza Tartini, with St. George’s Cathedral, and the port. Free time, and then we continue to Portorož, one of the largest tourist resorts in Slovenia, with many luxurious hotels, restaurants, casinos, and beautiful shops. Our last stop will be in Izola, a "fishing village," where we will have enough time to explore this lovely village.
Wednesday, August 27 A fascinating excursion to Zagreb, Croatia. Upon arrival in this beautiful city, we will take a city tour, including sites such as the Cathedral dedicated to St. Stephen, St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, Ban Jelacic Square, and Tkalčićeva Street. After midday, there will be free time for lunch (extra) and personal sightseeing. Afterward, we return to Ljubljana.
Thursday, August 28 It’s time to leave Ljubljana and begin our journey to Bled in Slovenia, but first, we will visit the Postojna Caves. There, we will see one of the most famous cave systems in Europe, discovered in 1213. We will experience nature at its finest. These caves stretch up to 27 km deep. We recommend bringing a jacket or sweater, as the temperature in the caves is quite cool. Afterward, we will have free time for souvenir shopping and continue our journey to Bled. Upon arrival at Sava Park Hotel 4-Star, check-in and dinner at the hotel.
Friday, August 29 Today, we will admire the Bled countryside while taking a walk around the lake, which features a small island in the center, with a chapel dating back to the 17th century. Those who wish can rent a gondola or take a boat ride (extra) to tour the lake and the island. Among this beautiful scenery, we will also visit the 16th-century castle (extra), which overlooks the stunning lake. Later, we will depart by coach to Bohinj, located in the Julian Alps. We will take a cable car (extra) up Mt. Vogel, where we will enjoy magnificent views until we reach the top. Afterward, there will be free time to enjoy Bohinj Lake. We return to the hotel for dinner.
Saturday, August 30 Discover with us the Carinthia region in Austria, where we will visit the city of Klagenfurt, the capital of Carinthia. Together with the tour leader, we will see the main tourist attractions of the city, which has around 135,000 inhabitants. Among other things, we will visit Neuer Platz, Landhaus, Klagenfurt Cathedral, and the charming, typical Austrian old streets. Afterward, there will be free time for lunch (extra) or souvenir shopping. Our last stop will be in Velden, where we will pause to admire the beauty of Wörthersee, one of the most beautiful lakes in Austria. Dinner at the hotel.
Sunday, August 31 After a buffet breakfast, we leave Bled and begin our journey to Vienna, but first, we will stop in Graz, the second-largest city in Austria. We will take a tour of the beautiful city center, enjoy free time, and then continue to Vienna, where we will stay at the Hotel Ananas 4-star. Check-in, followed by a walk with the leader and dinner at the hotel.
Monday, September 1 Breakfast. Afterward, we will take a city tour of the romantic city of Vienna to discover the beauty of many historic sites, such as the Rathaus, the Parliament, the majestic Ringstraße buildings, Hofburg Palace, and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Later, there will be free time for everyone to continue enjoying the city or go shopping along the longest street (1.8 km) in Vienna, Mariahilfer Strasse. Dinner at the hotel.
Tuesday, September 2 After breakfast, transfer to Vienna Airport for flight KM515, which departs at 12:25 and arrives back in Malta at 14:45.
