Monday, July 14th
Meet at Malta International Airport at 08:00 for flight FR3694, departing at 10:30 and arriving in Trieste at 12:25. Depart by coach to the center of Trieste, the capital city of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, for a tour of the city and some free time. Afterward, we continue to the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. Check-in at Hotel Park (3 stars), located in the center of Ljubljana. Room assignment and then a walk with the leader to begin exploring this beautiful city.
Tuesday, July 15th
Breakfast and then a delightful day to the Slovenian coast, visiting Isola, Piran, and Portoroz. The first stop is Piran, where we will take a tour of its picturesque narrow streets, reach Piazza Tartini with the Church of St. George, and the port. After some free time, we continue to Portoroz, one of Slovenia’s largest tourist resorts, where we find luxurious hotels, restaurants, casinos, and beautiful shops. The last stop will be Izola, a “fishing village,” where we will have plenty of time to explore this charming village.
Wednesday, July 16th
Today, we offer a half-day city tour of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. With a local guide, we will visit the best sights of the city. We will start with the famous Three Rivers Fountain, the Town Hall (Rotovz), and pass over the Triple Bridge (Tromostovja). We will also see Presernov Square, the Neo-Classical Church of St. Francis, and end with a visit to the famous 12th-century castle with spectacular views of Ljubljana below. Afterward, we return to the center for free time to enjoy the city and its beautiful shops.
Thursday, July 17th
A very interesting excursion to Novo Mesto, where we will have a tour with the tour leader. We will also visit a restored traditional farm, where we will have wine tasting and have the chance to sample some traditional food (extra cost). Afterward, we will take a cruise on the Krka River, passing under four bridges and seeing many interesting sights along this beautiful river. A unique experience! Return to the hotel.
Friday, July 18th
An exciting excursion to Zagreb, Croatia. Upon arrival, we will take a city tour, visiting landmarks such as the Cathedral dedicated to St. Stephen, St. Mark's Church, Santa Katarina, Ban Jelacic Square, and Tkalciceva Street. After noon, there will be free time for lunch (extra cost) and personal sightseeing. We then return to Ljubljana.
Saturday, July 19th
Breakfast and an excursion to the famous Postojna Caves (entrance extra). We will take the electric train to tour these world-renowned caves and enjoy the beauty of the stalagmites. The tour lasts around an hour and a half, with a guide explaining what we see. We continue to Predjama Castle, the most popular castle in Slovenia.
Sunday, July 20th
Today we will have the opportunity to visit Bled and Bohinj in Slovenia. After breakfast, we will take a full-day excursion to Bled and Bohinj. This trip will be surrounded by stunning scenery, starting with Bled, a village surrounded by a lake with a small island in the middle. We will stop for sightseeing and those who wish can take a boat tour (not included) around the lake and Bled Island. Afterward, we will visit Bohinj, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Bohinj is considered one of the most beautiful places in the heart of the Julian Alps.
Monday, July 21st
Breakfast and transfer by coach to Trieste airport for check-in for flight FR3693, departing at 12:50 and arriving back in Malta at approximately 14:45.
