We meet at Malta International Airport at 20:50 for flight W6 7766, which departs at 23:10. We arrive in Skopje at 00:50. A short journey will take us to the center of Skopje and to the Hotel Next Door Park 4-star.
Buffet breakfast, followed by a city tour of Skopje with a local English-speaking guide. We will visit the new and old town, seeing the most interesting attractions: Porta Macedonia, Skopje Fortress, Macedonia Square, and Stone Bridge, along with the historic streets of the old town. We will also visit the Memorial House of Mother Teresa and the St. Holy Salvation Church. Free time for lunch (extra cost). Then, we continue our excursion to Mount Vodno, where we will use the cable car to visit the Millennium Cross. We return to the hotel for free time and dinner.
After buffet breakfast, we prepare for an interesting excursion to the wine region. First, we stop at the archaeological site of Stobi, located at the confluence of the Crna and Vardar rivers. It was the largest city in the northern part of the Roman Empire and the Province of Macedonia. Among other things, we will see large sanctuaries and the famous Theatre. Next, we head to Chateau Sopot Winery, where we will see the wine production process and have the opportunity to taste different types of wines and relax until we are served lunch (extra cost). We return to Skopje but before heading back to the hotel, we stop at the East Gate Shopping Mall for some shopping and free time.
Breakfast and departure by coach to Ohrid via Mavrovo, famous for its cheese. We stop at the Korab Trinca complex, known as one of the best cheese producers in the country. After a short break, we continue to travel along the Radika river and visit Rajcica Monastery. We then head to Struga for lunch and free time. We continue to Ohrid, where we check in at Hotel Nova Riviera 4-star in the center. Dinner at the hotel.
Buffet breakfast, followed by a city tour of Ohrid, where we will have the opportunity to visit various points of interest. We take a walk along the lake, enjoying the narrow picturesque streets leading to the heights of Ohrid with its beautiful Byzantine churches and Samoil’s Fortress. We continue our excursion with a relaxing cruise around Lake Ohrid. After midday, we visit St. Naum Monastery. We return to the hotel. In the evening, we will attend a special evening at a local restaurant where we will enjoy a traditional meal and folklore music (included).
Full-day excursion to Bitola. Our first visit is to the Heraclea Lyncestis Archaeological Site, where we can admire the well-preserved mosaic floor. This important site was discovered in the 4th century BC. We continue to Bitola, where we take a walk along the Shirok Sokak street, admiring the Neoclassical architecture, houses, cafes, and restaurants. We will visit the Old Bazaar and then head to the Green Market to see historical sites such as the Clock Tower and Yeni Mosque. We will have free time for lunch (extra) and souvenir shopping. We return to Ohrid for dinner at the hotel.
Breakfast and a half-day excursion to the Bay of the Bones, an archaeological complex located at the excavation site of Ploca Micov Kamen, near Gradishte and Pestani along the coast of Ohrid. We continue to Sveti Naum Monastery and then return to the hotel. There will be no meal included today, so you have the opportunity to taste traditional food at one of the many restaurants around the hotel.
Transfer by coach to Lake Matka via Kitcevo, where we will have the chance to enjoy the beauty of this Canyon and take a boat trip around the lake, leading us to Vrelo Cave. Afterward, we will have a traditional meal (extra cost) and continue to the Skopje Airport for our return flight W6 7765, which departs at 20:55, arriving in Malta at 24:40.
