Monday
We meet at the airport at 05:00 for flight KM307 which departs at 07:15 and arrives in Munich at 09:45. Transfer by coach where we will have a city tour. Together with the tour leader, we will visit the central square, Marienplatz, dominated by the bells of the Fraunkirche church tower. We will also see the famous clock, Rathaus Glockenspiel, located in this same square, Isor Tor, St. Michael’s Church, Karlsplatz with its famous fountain, and the streets of Neuhausen Strabe and Kaufinger Strabe, two streets filled with beautiful establishments and shops. We will also see Max Joseph Platz Opera House... Afterward, we will proceed to the Wallis 3-Star Hotel located in the city center.
Tuesday
After breakfast, we have an excursion to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a German ski resort. This famous resort hosted the 1936 Winter Olympics. From here, we will continue our journey to Zugspitze, where we will take a cogwheel (extra) to the top of this mountain, which is also the highest mountain in Germany (10,000 feet). Here, we will see a breathtaking scenery, a spectacular lake in Bavaria. We will return to the hotel.
Wednesday
Discover the beauty of ‘Hohenschwangau Castle’ and we will have the opportunity to enter and enjoy the beauty this castle offers (entrance fee extra). We will continue to Neuschwanstein Castle, the castle of King Ludwig, built in a neo-Romanesque style and world-famous. We will have time to visit Marian Bridge where we can take pictures of the castle. Afterward, we will visit the village of Füssen, a popular holiday and spa resort located at the foothills of the Alps. Here, we will take a tour of the historic center.
Thursday
An extremely interesting excursion to Berchtesgaden and Lake Königssee, we begin our journey to Berchtesgaden where we will have the opportunity to visit the famous Salt Mines (entrance fee extra). We will continue our journey amidst beautiful scenery until we reach Lake Königssee, which is the deepest and clearest lake in Germany. This lake resembles a Norwegian fjord. Those who wish may take a boat tour around the lake (boat extra). We will have time for souvenir shopping.
Friday
After breakfast, an excursion to the beautiful and historic city of Augsburg. Upon arrival, we will take a tour of the city center to see the most interesting sites such as the Town Hall, Fuggerei, and the Golden Hall, while passing by several UNESCO World Heritage sites. Afterward, we will have plenty of time to enjoy the narrow streets and typical shops. At 15:15, transfer to Munich airport for flight KM309 which departs at 19:00 and arrives back in Malta at 21:20.
