Discover the fascinating city of Berlin, where we will explore this historically rich capital with a professional English-speaking local guide who will explain the complex story of a nation once divided between East and West. During the tour, we will see major landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden, the Reichstag, Museum Island, the Berlin Opera, Berlin Wall Memorial, Checkpoint Charlie, Gendarmenmarkt, Grosser Tiergarten, the Victory Column, Berlin Cathedral, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, and the Nikolai Quarter. After the tour, we return to the hotel with time to enjoy the festive atmosphere and explore the nearby Christmas markets.
After breakfast, we depart by coach for an excursion to Potsdam, the historical residence of Prussian kings. Here, we have the chance to visit the Sanssouci Palace (entrance extra), set within a vast and beautifully landscaped park. We’ll have time to stroll and appreciate the serene gardens and natural beauty of the area. Later, we explore the centre of Potsdam, a city known for its 20 lakes and rivers flowing through it. In the afternoon, we return to Berlin, with more time in the evening to enjoy the Christmas markets and festive city life.
Today, we travel by coach to Leipzig, a city with deep cultural and musical roots, especially its association with the famous composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Leipzig is a major commercial hub known for its impressive musical heritage and is home to one of Germany’s oldest and largest Christmas markets—the Leipziger Weihnachtsmarkt. Together with our local guide, we’ll visit sights such as the Market Square, the Old City Hall (Altes Rathaus), the Opera House, and St. Nicholas Church. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to visit attractions like the Museum of Fine Arts, the historic Zum Arabischen Coffe Baum café-restaurant, or simply enjoy the festive charm of the Christmas market.
