Prepare your luggage to embark on this splendid tour of the Republic of Macedonia, one of the six Balkan countries. Visit the old and new parts of the city of Skopje and be amazed with what each part has to offer. Look upon the Skopje Fortress in the old town, sometimes referred to as Kale Fortress. Pass through the impressive Porta Macedonia, scultped by the genius Valentina Stefanovska, on Pella Square. Move on to the massive Macedonia Square in the heart of the city and stop for a quick coffee. Take a picture of the Stone Bridge with its many arches over the Vardar River. Pray for the good soul of Mother Theresa when you visit her Memorial House and  St. Holey Salvation Church. Take the cable car up to Mountain Vodno until you encounter the 66m high Milennium Cross.  In the wooden slopes of Mountain Vodno, you will have the opportunity to visit Gorno Nerezi and the Byzantine Church dedicated to St. Panteleimon.  Hop on a boat and get ready for a lake trip when visiting the Matka Canyon.

Set foot on Stobi, the most famous archaelogical site in Macedonia, located at the confluence of the rivers Vardar and Crna.  Make your way to Popava Kunta Winery, roll up your sleeves while you watch the process of wine making and let your taste buds judge which of the four wines is best to your liking.  From the winery to the town of Mavrovo, most famous for cheese and then on to Galicmik, popular for the annual Wedding Festival. Along the river Radika, make a stop at the orthodox St. Jovan Bigorski Monastery and Rajcica Monastery until you came at the end of the daily journey at Ohrid.

Explore the city of Ohrid and get lost in its beauty. Relax on a boat trip on Ohrid’s lake and be fascinated by the narrow streets, the Byzantine churches and Samuel’s Fortress. Go back in history when you visit the Bay of Bones and admire the reconstruction of an old settlement. Grab the opportunity to look closely at yet another orthodox monastery, this time that of Saint Naum.

Join a local guide to discover the city of Bitola in the Pelagonia Valley. The first stop will be to admire the colourful and well preserved mosiac, the ancient theatre and Roman baths at the Archeological Site Heraclea Lyncestis. Further stops at the Old Bazaar and the Green Market will enrich this trip with an opportunity to buy souvenirs to take back home.
