Blackpool, Snowdonia, LLandudno,  Ambleside,

Manchester ...

Escape the heat of Malta and embark on an exciting journey to England, still a very popular destination with the Maltese.  Land early enough to enjoy a full day at Liverpool, the city of the Beatles and marvel at the Cathedral, the Town Hall and St. George’s Hall.  Whether you are a Liverpool football fan or not, don’t miss out on passing by the famous Liverpool F.C Anfield football ground. Spend time appreciating Albert Dock, located in the heart of the historical, breathtaking waterfront.

Enjoy the countryside while you travel to the fortified city of York. Make a stop at the York Minster Cathedral dedicated to St. Peter, well known for being one of the largest in Northern Europe. Learn about the story of the railway in Britain when visiting the National Railway Museum.  Travel back to the Viking era and meet the Vikings in life size manniquins and understand better the way they lived at Jorvick Viking Centre.

Leave the city life behind and cross over to Wales, another country of the United Kingdom of Britain. Be stunned with the vast scenery of mountains and lakes at Snowdonia. Take numerous pictures so that you will be able to treasure such memories forever. Proceed to the nearby town of Llandudno, a seaside resort where you will have enough time for sightseeing.

While in Blackpool, enjoy this seaside resort by walking along the promenade, famous for its Piers and continue your stroll to Pleasure Beach, host of a very popular funfair. Do not miss out on the Blackpool Tower, a tourist attraction inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris.  Put aside time for a quick lunch and set off for some good quality shopping.  If you’re lucky enough to be travelling in September, spend a night walking through the amazing Blackpool Illuminations, known worldwide as the “greatest free light show on earth”.

Located on the River Dee, visit Chester, a medieval, fortified town.  Make sure to set foot at Chester’s Cathedral, an archaelogical treasure.  See if you can spot a wedding being held at the Town Hall, situated in the middle of this town and so popular for social events.

When in Rome, do like the Romans, when in Chester take a photo of the most photographed clock in England after the Big Ben, that of the Eastgate clock. Its position is a prominant landmark of the town so there is no excuse of missing it.

Prepare yourself to astonishing beauty at the Lake District, England’s largest National Park and understand from where  William Wordsworth got his inspiration. Mountains, lakes and forest are the ingredients on the menu as you visit the communities of Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere. Take the opportunity to enjoy Windermere Lake to the full but choosing to go on a cruise and while you do so, don’t forget it is the largest  natural lake in the Lake District and the whole of England. Buy your souvenirs, books, paintings and antiques from Keswick and avoid the hustle and bustle of a large city.

Spend a day in Manchester, another major city full of life and interesting tourist attractions. Make a stop at the Cathedral and the Town Hall, both majestic buildings, the former dating back to the Middle Ages, the latter a Victorian, Gothic building located in Albert Square. Visit the University of Manchester, another impressive building before you head on to Old Trafford Centre. If you are lucky and Old Trafford Stadium is open grab a tour and investigate where important matches are played, a good tease for your Manchester fans friends back home.
